During the Moorish rule of Sicily, there was a charming young woman who lived in Palermo. Every day she used to spend time on her balcony tending to her plants. One day, a young Moor passing by saw her and was captivated by her beauty. He declared his love for her, which was immediately returned. After some time, the girl discovered that her lover would soon have to return to his country where his wife and children were waiting for him. She then decided to plot her revenge: while he slept, she killed him. And what did she do with his head? She decided to use it as a vase for her beautiful flowery balcony, so that her lover would stay with her forever. It's great to know the stories behind the pieces, isn't it?
